OCAD 2nd-Year INDS Project-Zishan Liao
Focus is an app that combines online matching learning/ study alone with white noise. That can help people learn more efficiently at home or work. The main aim is simple, efficient and soothing use.
Inspiration
I need to study independently at home every day, but study at home is very easy to distract. But I find it's easier to concentrate when I'm listening white noise or watching a study broadcast. It makes me feel like I'm being accompanied, and white noise cancels out the outside noise without distracting me from the melody and content.But it's also easy to get distracted by other things when we turn on the live stream, and it doesn't help us plan our time. Therefore, I want to design an APP that can be studied with company/independently, and help people concentrate through white noise.

Simple pages allow people to jump right into their plan with fewer settings, reducing distractions. White noise helps people concentrate more easily and reduce the influence of their surroundings. At the same time, I think it can motivate people to study together by matching others with similar time schedules. Such matching can also reduce the lack of "virtual seats" in previous App(Co study) research. Instead of planting virtual trees, I think it would be much more fun to complete a plan so that you can chat with your matched friends. Under the current situation of COVID-19, it is very difficult for people to meet new friends with the same goal. I hope this software can help people find partners with same goal to work with, so as to increase their motivation. If this project can continue to be improved in the later stage, I will add the study/work planning system and the part that can invite friends and set goals together.
